Avocados are one of my favorite foods. They add a super creamy delicious fatty yum to so many different foods. When they stopped carrying my favorite avocado dressing at the grocery, I decided it was time I give making my own a go.
The main flavor profile: avocado and lime, with a touch of garlic and sweet honey lingering in the background. I also added in some cumin, which I was using on the roasted veggies I planed to eat this dressing with. I used rice vinegar for a nice tang element, then extra virgin olive oil and water to thin out the consistency. And salt, which enhances the flavor of everything.
I simple tossed all of the ingredients into the food processor and blended away!
After tasting, I decided I wanted to add in some sour cream.
One last taste test, and wah-lah! Dressing is done. Pour it in an air tight container and keep in the refrigerator for future use.
KITCHEN UTENSILS NEEDED:
- Cutting board
- Chef’s knife (my FAVORITE knife*, worth ever penny)
- Hand juicer*
- Food Processor*
- Rubber Spatula
- Measuring set
- Mason Jar
Zingy Avocado Dressing
Ingredients
- 2 avocados
- juice of 1 lime (approximately 2 tablespoons)
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 tablespoons sour cream
- ½ tablespoon honey
- ½ teaspoon cumin
- ½ cup water
- sea salt, to taste
Directions
- Combine all of the ingredients in to a food processor (or blender) and blend until everything is thoroughly combined.
- Pour in mason jar (or other air tight container) and keep in fridge for future use.
