This Halloween I decided to turn myself into Chucky, a doll that is possessed by the soul of a serial killer in the 1988 horror movie, Child’s Play. I was really excited to play around with FX makeup and attempt to make bloody scars on my face. I also made jean short jumpers for the outfit by cutting up an old pair of jeans. I absolutely love how everything turned out!

To make the scars look realistic, I used rigid collodion and stage blood. Collodion has a pulling/drawing effect inward and slightly enhances the color underneath it.

I started by using red lip liner to draw where I wanted each scar. I topped each line with several layers of collodion, letting each layer dry a bit between applications. After I was happy with the depth it created, I used a small brush to dab in stage blood over each indention.

As you can see from the picture, I also put stage blood around my eyes. On my left eye, I dipped a stippling sponge in stage blood, dabbed it around my eye, then used a small brush to blend it in closer to the lid. To get the bloody bruised look on my right eye, I made a giant circle around my eye with red liquid lip color (I had no red shadow, so I improvised). Then I slowly layered in a combination of black and dark purple eye shadow (circled below, from my Urban Decay Naked Smoky eye shadow palette). To finish my doll face off, I put on fake lashes and red lip color (the same kind I used around my eye, Bossy Boots by Butter London). Lastly, I pressed out some staples and used eye lash glue to adhere the staples over the scars.

I looove how my makeup turned out. I think I might play with FX makeup more often. So fun! 😁
For the outfit, I used a rainbow tee and red stockings from a cheap Chucky outfit that I purchased off eBay. I cut the red buttons from the jumper dress and attached them to my jean short suspenders. For my crazy hair, I bought a hot honey red colored wig. In retrospect, I wish I had gotten a shorter wig so I could have flailed out the hair a bit more crazily, but I made do. 😜

After my outfit was complete, I took a walk in the woods to met up with a friend for a secret meeting. To our surprise, we were rudely interrupted by some random dude on crutches. He was able to capture this picture before… well, I can’t say much else. What happens in the woods, stays in the woods. 😉
